Juneteenth

In honor of Juneteenth, I created this illustration to celebrate one of the oldest holidays that commemorated the end of slavery in the United States. It’s been delightful to see companies and parts of the nation announce Juneteenth as a holiday. Some argue, it’s the real Independence Day for the nation.

If you’re looking for ways to celebrate, I recommend trying barbecue from a black-owned business since historically, a barbecue pit was often established as the center of attention at Juneteenth parties.
