Is this Wonderland?
Fun fact about the beautiful cherry blossoms courtesy of PBS:
- Over the 100-year history of the cherry blossoms in the nation’s capitol, the trees have been under attack several times. After the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, three days later someone chopped down four trees in a suspected act of retaliation. In 1999, four trees were felled again, this time by beavers who were promptly removed from the Tidal Basin.
If you read my previous post, I opted out from walking the Tidal Basin this year because traffic looked unbearable and I didn't want to fight to see the trees. Justin captured this moment as we walked along the same path in Reston. We found a few families taking pictures with their kids, but nothing felt cramped. With the magnificent cherry blossoms, I felt as if I landed in Wonderland. I actually styled this outfit for Easter Sunday (no church for me this year). The skater dress's sheer bottom paired with my pastel over-the-knee socks from Stance that I grabbed when I stumbled upon the shop in Soho, New York. The see-through texture allows just reaches high enough that it shows a tease of thigh and where my socks end. This dress is great for both casual and formal attire based on how you pair certain items with it.Thank you to Tobi for sponsoring this post!
