London bound
I'm officially on my way to the United Kingdom where I will see family and friends across the sea.More than five years ago, I fell in love with this city and unfortunately haven't been back since. The arts, culture and accents (ha!) remind me of a posh, less crowded New York city. While I'm not a huge fish and chips lover, I'm excited to try the melting pot of food throughout the city. Here's a few necessities I made sure to pull out for my tripWe'll start left corner and transition in a clockwise manner. My boyfriend bought me the bloodless Gloomy Bear a few months ago and since, she's traveled to both Chicago and the Big Apple this summer. My hope is to snap Gloomy in a variety of spots and hopefully put together a nice creation by the end of the year.I can't travel without at least one hat (Supreme) and I find myself always sporting on in an airport accompanied by my Nike Roshes. These are my go-to travel shoes because they're comfy and not as valuable as some of my others, so I feel free to walk the streets with them on my feet. Thanks to my boyfriend's family, I'll be able to snack on this delicious pastry from Tous les Jours.Yesterday, Apple revealed its plan for the next iPad, including a force touchscreen and stylus! All elements I've been thinking about in my debate to switch from an iPad to Surface Pro. Looks like I'll be sticking with Steve Jobs a bit longer and I'll probably trade in my iPad air so I can digitally scribble properly. Either way, mine is loaded with movies, Zoombinis (I might spend my whole flight playing), books, photos and more. It's more than enough to keep me busy on a 6+ hour flight. An external charger is a must, especially when airlines don't have plugs. For a good bang for your buck, check Amazon. As always, I'm bringing my DSL-R with me, but recently a friend mentioned that awkward feeling you get when you want to take a high-quality picture of your food. You can't whip out this giant monster of a camera without freaking at least one waitress out, so I opted to bring my trusty snap-and-go Canon Powershot. I could probably use an updated version though!Quay Sunglasses became huge this summer. I spotted a few My Girl shades at Made in America and now I've more than happy that I purchased these at the beginning of summer. A huge Shay Mitchell fan, I wear these when I want to go incognito.Glance in the middle and this is my most important item that I will miss my flight for if I leave them behind. My Bose QuietComfort headphones. These babies have been with me through some rough flights and I can't even remember when I bought them (possibly around 2010), but they've been in mint condition until recently so I feel it's worth the $300+. Since these came out, Bose offers upgraded acoustic sounds and more color options. Check them out here. Finally, my UNIF mini backpack keeps all these items with my through my travels. You can't purchase it anymore but there's a similar option here. I have a horrible back and can really only carry light, and this bag keeps me in check with my body's limits.Any great recommendations aside from the Eye and the Tate? Would love some suggestions for beautiful things to see and delicious bites to eat.Wishing you (and me) safe future travels!
