I’ve been dreaming about all the places I want to travel to once the pandemic ends. I found a few photos on pexels that reminded me of two wishlist vacations: Alberta, Canada and California.

Justin and I plan to visit Banff within the next few years. The mountains and lake in this photo reminded me of how serene the entire area appears. I used cool tones to depict the sultry vibes from the mysterious fog just above the lake in the photo. Although I didn’t directly copy and reflect the mountains in the lake, I thought that the freehand style mirrored what you might see in the water.

For the road illustration, I wanted to utilize contrasting colors, yet still finding a blend to create a seamless palette. The warm-toned mountains remind me of Neapolitan ice cream. Somehow I imagine myself walking down this endless road into the mountains in the far back.

I’m hoping to add a few more landscapes before my husband and I move to Philadelphia in a few weeks. I can’t wait to decorate our apartment with all this scenery!
