Din. Tai. Fung.I never understood the concept of a soup dumpling until I embarked on a trip to Din Tai Fung. Since the restaurant originated from Taiwan, it made sense to discover the hype surrounding xiaolongbao. My friend Sandy and I waited 30-40 minutes for a table at the Taipei 101 location, although I heard wait times could be as long as a few hours.Knowing we may never be able to eat these steamed dumplings again, we ordered enough food for a small family. We took leftovers back to our Airbnb, but left overly satisfied and longing to return in the future. My favorite: the truffle soup dumpling. Our waiter warned us its known for its high cholesterol, but we tried it without hesitation. After all, you really can't go wrong with truffle anything.
