Ippudo NY

Trekking to New York is worthwhile for ramen. I make it a point to go for at least one meal throughout my stay in the city.My boyfriend, Justin, wanted to try Ippudo after I raving about it for the past couple years. I knew that he would find the same quality that I found in the bowl making it a top contender of our best noodle dishes, but not the No. 1 spot. I personally enjoy the Westside location more because it's not as dark and crowded as the East Village location, but we decided on this as it was closer to our daytime activities. The experience at Ippudo is by far one of its best aspects. As you walk in, workers yell in Japanese welcoming you to the establishment. Waiters are helpful in sharing tips when choosing amongst the eight bowls (one seasonal), so you can earn the best meal at the restaurant. We ordered pork buns, one in chicken and one in vegetable. Smothered meat and lettuce fill the gooey roll and it's a satisfying entree (yet nothing compared to Baohaus).Above is the Akamaru (miso) and below is the Shiromaru Hakata Classic (pork). All the broths are flavorful and filling. Every component in the meal is spot on in terms of an authentic ramen dish.Ippudo NY is located on 65 4th Ave in New York.
