The Colorless Garden
These past few days I found my newest (but actually oldest) hobby! It not only relaxes, soothes and eases my mind after a stressful day, but it kills time and even saves me from going out and spending the little money that I do have! What is it?A coloring book.Well it's not just any coloring book. After reading a New York Times article in March, my boyfriend went straight to a bookstore, picked it up and came home with this as a surprise! The sad part is, I never had time to take it out and try it on for size until recently. On the extra humid and too sunny to go out days, I stay in my cool air conditioned apartment and stick my nose into this colorless book.A bit about Johanna Bedford: she's a Scottish artist who created this adult coloring book with hidden tidbits throughout the entire book. There are a TON of flowers, shapes, leaves and more to color that filling an entire page takes hours.I thought about using my watercolor pencils, but decided to opt out.The pages are thick enough for felt tip pens and no bleeding through the pages. And thanks to my helpful friend, I sharpened my pencils to the finest points and staring at this cheeky face also brightened my day. Buy it here (and in two other colors too!).Buy the book here and also check out the Enchanted Garden once you're done filling up this whole book.I can't wait to fill this entire book with color. How are you staying cool this summer?
