Ring the Alarm

Before hopping on the metro, I changed out of my work booties and into some cozy sneakers. I purchased these Ransom sneakers about a year ago at KITH. What drew me to these shoes were its bright colors and the not too hefty price tag.Although the back rubs against the back of my heels (you can see there isn't much padding), the pair is perfect for summer. They're light weighing probably less than a pound and the material is made of mesh and keeps my feet cool despite the heat.I traded out the purely red laces with a pair from KITH. The contrast of white and red give the sneakers a finer, premium appearance. I personally thought the laces that came on the shoe looked cheap and basic, so the replacement is a breathe of fresh air. I paired my bright red sneakers with an off-white skirt and a black and red crop top. It keeps the bright-to-neutral-to-bright through the whole outfit.Be sure to check out Zara's huge summer sale. From mini skirts to crop tops, almost everything is discounted and still stocked.  Finally, the popsicle in hand is from Whimpop! The popsicle cart moves through a number of farmer's markets in the Northern Virginia region. Recently opening a permanent location in Alexandria, Whimpop offers popsicles made from real fruit. I tried the watermelon flavored and taste a base of the fruit as well as hints of lime for zest and a pinch of basil. The store's popsicles taste fresh, clean and its perfect for cooling off in this 100 percent humidity weather the DMV has been encountering recently. On my final note, I called this post "Ring the Alarm" because of the pop of red. I also just settled at court for a pretty bad looking speeding ticket. This is post-I-hope-a-cop-never-pulls-me-over phase.Sunglasses: Sunglass SpotTop: American Apparel (Similar here)Skirt: ZaraSneakers: Ransom Holding Co.
