Vaporwaffle

It feels like I have been waiting decades for this release.

Photos of the sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle leaked a year ago and I’m still sitting here waiting for the US launch. I finally found the time to draw the black pair, even though the sail colorway is the one I’m going after. The colors remind me of the South Korea flag, which means I can wear these proudly on feet. I incorporated both companies’ logos since both curated branded staples on this sneaker.

Why do I really, REALLY want this sneaker?

Raise your hand if you have hyperhidrosis and you’re in awe of the mesh paneling? For someone with severely sweaty feet and hands, I love the layered midsole and black waffle outsole. While my sister thinks this sneaker looks like duck lips from behind, this whimsical silhouette feels unexpected from Nike; yet the design can easily be attributed to sacai.
