Abstract Album Covers

I recently enrolled in Skillshare to utilize my free time by adding new skillsets to my profile. As I continue to use Illustrator more each day, I wanted to create an abstract series; however, I struggled to find a purpose and theme. This is where Skillshare proves successful – the website not only shares lesson plans, but it also gives you a class project where you can share and see other students’ work from a variety of levels. Instructors typically interact with uploaded work in addition to social media engagement.

I sketched a few designs on Adobe Fresco before entering Illustrator to compile the piece digitally. I chose colors specific to playlists I would curate for a variety of moods. Overall though, I think these pieces can live on their own. I’m planning to make another series for apartment walls. Stay tuned!
