Off-White x Converse Chuck 70

The dream wasn’t the W; it was buying sneakers for my sister’s birthday.

Oh, hello.

It’s been awhile. I’m halfway through my fall semester, but I just wrapped up a brutal first term. I endured classes four days a week, Friday being the sole day off and every week I felt burnt out. So if you’re wondering if you can take 14 credits and work 60-hour weeks, the answer is yes, but prepare for no life outside of work and school (yup, say goodbye to friends for a few months).

But now I’m back, and JUSTIN time for my favorite season: fall.

I kicked off October with a major win. Not only did I cop my own W for the second Off-White x Converse collaboration, but my sister also did too! Shout out to UBIQ for her win; Major for mine. Now please stop flooding my DMs asking how we copped because the answer lies here.

My sister, Jenna, turned 22 a few days following this sneaker release. It’s always been my dream to buy her a hyped pair of sneakers for her birthday; I never thought the day would come because of her style. With the recent merge of basic brands with more street-centric fashion (think Vans x UO and Bandier x FILA), she found herself asking about the Yeezy Wave Runner 700 and this sneaker itself.

Anyways, this post isn’t a sneaker review (because let’s be real, it’s been a minute) or anything like that. In fact, it’s a tribute to my “baby” sis who means the most to me.

Check out some of my shots and some day-of footage below.

Kaws x Jordan Black

Unboxing this very limited sneaker.

A sneakerhead’s first question upon seeing this post: How?

I own a few Jordans, but nothing substantial enough for a model comparison against various silhouettes. Yet as 2017 comes to a close, I reflected on the year in November just before the Thanksgiving holiday. I confided in friends that I felt “unlucky” throughout the year since I experienced a few hardships that go hand-in-hand with my quarter-life crisis.

The tables turned.

Not only did I manage to win a Yeezy Beluga 2.0 raffle, but selected my entry to purchase the limited run of the KAWS x Jordan Retro in black. The glow-in-the-dark sole combined with luxury leather and well-established brands made this near impossible to buy for its retail price of $350.

Pink satin and culottes

Waiting for fall weather.

If you’re planning to utilize your summer clothes for fall, here’s one way I styled a few pieces for cooler weather. I purchased this off-the-shoulder pink satin top from Forever 21 for less than $8. Throughout the summer, I paired it with jean shorts throughout the hot, muggy day, but for fall I threw on black culottes. The wide-leg bottoms paired with a shift top makes movement easy in a composed manner.

To contrast the dark bottoms, I sported my Pharrell Williams x Adidas Originals Tennis sneakers. The tan structure contrasts against both the dark pants, but the bright pink sole pairs with the shirt.

Shirt: Forever 21.

Pants: Uniqlo.

National Arboretum

Spanning 412 acres.

I always wanted to visit the US National Arboretum, but I could never bring myself to drive out there. Finally, not only did I get the tour the garden, but I also caught up with Sloane (also known as Slodak).

We met while my first tour with Walk With Locals and kept up with each other on Instagram. Even though I haven’t been to a walk in awhile, it still feels nice to know we connected that day. For those interested in meeting new people, walking around the city or photographing moments, then WWL is perfect for you.

On this particularJune day, the weather seemed cooler so I decided to style my FENTY Puma Trainers since I just picked them up a few weeks prior. The sesame color tied in seamlessly with the marbled columns, but also contrasted again the bright green foliage. I added a hint of pink and wore this custom shirt my girl Vivian gifted me. She stitched random phrases I typically say including “I love her,” and “Ayyyy” on a bell-sleeved shirt.

Sunglasses: Gentle Monster.

Shirt: Custom by Vivian.

Jeans: Zara.

Sneakers: FENTY Puma Trainer Hi in Sesame.

FENTY Trainer Hi

Rihanna releases a new sneaker in collaboration with Puma.

I fell in loves with these sneakers the moment I saw them! The FENTY x Puma line released jelly slides just in time for summer, but a week later the company also opened orders for these Trainer Hi shoes to the public. The sesame color makes it versatile for all your summer needs. Check out my unboxing below and let me know your thoughts.

Stan Smith

My Memorial Day weekend pick up for a steal.

For the past few years, my friends and I make a point to visit the outlets throughout Memorial Day weekend. This year, thunderstorms and cloudy skies rolled through the DC area, which led to not just one, but three trips to various shopping centers. I purchased two pairs of sneakers, this Adidas Stan Smith Primeknit being one. At the register, the shoe rang up for a mere $15. How could I say no?

McCrillis Gardens

A dash of pink to complement the flowers.

The DMV just can’t seem to keep the springtime weather long enough for the cherry blossoms to fully bloom. If you’re from the area, then you’re probably saddened by the half flowered trees and frozen buds. I can’t seem to stash away my winter jackets, yet I constantly grab for my spring attire.

On a warmer weekday, I spontaneously met with Drè at McCrillis Gardens in Bethesda, Maryland. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful with sunny skies and a floral garden.
