Off-White x Converse Chuck 70

The dream wasn’t the W; it was buying sneakers for my sister’s birthday.

Oh, hello.

It’s been awhile. I’m halfway through my fall semester, but I just wrapped up a brutal first term. I endured classes four days a week, Friday being the sole day off and every week I felt burnt out. So if you’re wondering if you can take 14 credits and work 60-hour weeks, the answer is yes, but prepare for no life outside of work and school (yup, say goodbye to friends for a few months).

But now I’m back, and JUSTIN time for my favorite season: fall.

I kicked off October with a major win. Not only did I cop my own W for the second Off-White x Converse collaboration, but my sister also did too! Shout out to UBIQ for her win; Major for mine. Now please stop flooding my DMs asking how we copped because the answer lies here.

My sister, Jenna, turned 22 a few days following this sneaker release. It’s always been my dream to buy her a hyped pair of sneakers for her birthday; I never thought the day would come because of her style. With the recent merge of basic brands with more street-centric fashion (think Vans x UO and Bandier x FILA), she found herself asking about the Yeezy Wave Runner 700 and this sneaker itself.

Anyways, this post isn’t a sneaker review (because let’s be real, it’s been a minute) or anything like that. In fact, it’s a tribute to my “baby” sis who means the most to me.

Check out some of my shots and some day-of footage below.

Season of Her

Nike’s Air Jordan brand released its first ever women collection of sneakers dubbed the “Season of Her.” The Air Jordan 1 silhouette came in 10 brightly hued colorways. The Jumpman sneaker comes built with premium materials. Catered to the streets yet remaining fashion forward, the Season of Her collection can be mixed and matched to compliment both day and night styles.

Watch my unboxing below and let me know how you feel about this sneaker!

Multi-colored racers

On sale at a Nike Factory Store.

My sister, Jenna, loves rainbow sneakers. One of her favorite shoes are the multi-color Nike Roshe One flyknits.

While sifting through the clearance items at Nike Factory Store at Pike & Rose (Rockville), we found this gem: a Flyknit Racer in the rainbow/multi-colored shade.

Originally retailing for $150, the sneaker rang up for $85. I wouldn’t call this a steal, but certainly a deal for someone who loves rainbow footwear and refuses to pay full price.

One reason for my New York trip: I won a raffle.

Not just any drawing, but the winning ticket to my size in the triple black Supreme Nike Uptempos.

When I attempted to explain to my mom why I needed to head to the city on a Saturday morning, she didn’t quite understand why I felt the burning desire to pick up these sneakers at NikeLab in a timely manner.

It’s okay mom, maybe now you will understand. If not, it’s okay because I added these classics to my collection.

As always, #ThanksKevin for sharing my love for sneakers through your work.

Kiss my airs

The revolution never ends. Welcome, Vapormax.

Air Max Month might have passed, but it certainly doesn’t stop Nike from marketing their latest addition to the bubble line. Nike designed every cushion on this sneaker to provide a flexible feel when supporting the foot. The flyknit structure is something we’ve seen on a number of shoes in the past few years, and nothing beats its comfort.

The asphalt colorway makes the sneaker versatile for any outfit. I paired these with an all black outfit complete with my latest Kaws x Peanuts x Uniqlo shirt and a pastel Supreme hat.

Inspire those around you

Live to create.

Someone recently inquired about a photoshoot that would involve me doing an activity that I loved. I needed to think about this because I felt unsure how to define blogging, filming and capturing within still images. Recently I met with TheKevinJ for a photoshoot in Washington DC (I was not the subject, someone else was), and he took these images of me that somewhat defines my passion.

I love to create.

Whether this means filming a video, taking pictures or painting on masks, I enjoy creating. If I can help my friends to do so, or even inspire a stranger, then I feel uplifted because I impacted someone’s life in a positive manner.

Isn’t that what we want in the end?
