The Best Style at The Greatest Day Ever Festival

See how attendees styled the three stripes into their outfits.

The Greatest Day Ever music festival, sponsored by Adidas, drew in thousands of attendees to not only enjoy music by RL Grime, Young Thug, Torey Lanez, Alison Wonderland, Majid Jordan and more. Adidas and the Greatest Day Ever team provided me with the opportunity to share my experience at the event on social media.

Throughout the two-day event, I captured some of the “greatest” Adidas style seen throughout the festival grounds. It was truly blissful to see how people styled the Adidas brand into their style. I saw a range of sneakers including the Arkyn, Deerupt, Falcon and naturally all renditions of the Yeezys to date.

I found this festival quite intriguing due to two things:

  • Adidas sponsorship: Yes, naturally the Adidas brand held a presence in many aspects of the festival; however, it didn’t feel as if the company placed the logo on every single opportunity. This played out nicely because it was clear as day what company sponsored the festival, but it didn’t feel too “in your face” especially with photo opportunities and carnival rides. If brands aspire to sponsor a festival properly, they can take key notes from the three stripes brand.
  • Diversity: I’ve been to more than 20 festivals in my lifetime, and this was by far the most diverse crowd I’ve ever seen. I don’t mean ethnicity, even the age ranges varied from toddlers following their parents around, teens who swarmed the main stage area for Lil Skies, college-aged students who came in squads, young adults who enjoyed sets from an elevated viewing area and a few mature adults I found enjoying carnival rides and napping in hammocks.

Take a look at some of the heat seen throughout the day. Perhaps we’ll see you next year! Stay tuned for a video, which will be uploaded to my YouTube channel!

Firefly 2017

Back to the Woodlands for my favorite summer music festival.

This year marks my fourth experience at Firefly Music Festival. My sister and I decided to utilize our creative juices and showcase our fashion styles in two ways. We picked up this velvet bodysuit from Forever 21 and put our own spin on it. Both our outfits retailed for less than $100. Despite 100 degree temperatures, we managed to stay hydrated all day and watch The Weeknd, Cashmere Cat and T-Pain perform amazing sets.

Stay Trill

Trillectro Music Festival celebrates five years.

Trillectro Music Festival kicked off its fifth annual year with Kid Cudi as the main headliner. A handful of my favorite DMV artists painted huge murals throughout the day while I roamed around the lawn and 9:32 Club. While I didn’t stay for the entire day, it only took minutes for me to fall in love with Lil Uzi.

I styled my Topshop camo pants with a fake RIPNDIP x Supreme tee, which popped with the bit of red. Chris bought me this as a get well gift earlier this month and I can’t stop styling it on weekends when the cat sticking a middle finger up might not be appropriate for the workplace.

Firefly Music Festival 2016

A recap of my third encounter with the Delaware event.

All I can say is, wow.

Firefly Music Festival came to a close this past weekend after a four-day long event. Although I only attended Friday through Sunday, I can’t imagine actually going the first day due to my lack of sleep, exhaustion and complete dehydration.

This year concludes my third time attending the festival and after working as a brand ambassador with Red Frog Events and the Firefly team, I felt this year I attended properly. I prepped my concert schedule in time to make it to the very front of my two favorite acts, Gallant and Goldlink. Although I missed Ludacris, I managed to see Major Lazer from a far-away spot in the audience and discover a love for Tchami.

I managed to say hello to Gallant and expressed my love for his music while hugging him; and snapped yet another picture with Goldlink after recalling our meet at Broccoli Festival. After capturing beauty from all the lighting and vocal talents, I managed to also get tagged on Gallant’s Instagram account and received a notification he liked one of my tweets (fangirl so hard).

I lucked out this year with the weather since no rain fell Friday through Sunday and moderate temperatures. Dust filled the air, but Justin and I came prepared with face masks to shield away the mess.

Strangely enough, I witnessed my first (and second) glow stick drop during Deadmau5‘s and Major Lazer‘s sets. The sky literally filled with a rainbow of neon colors during the best drops in songs. I noticed less art filled the festival grounds, which bummed tons of people out. The best part is walking through a wonderland of colorful umbrellas or paper birds! Yet, I did notice that after muddy paths filled nearly every inch of the grounds last year, rocks and sand replaced potential hazardous areas.

Last year, I decided to not attend Firefly, but as you can see I still ended up going. So no promises for next year, although after attending too many festivals for this lifetime, I might be done forever. Perhaps a one-day pass will be the move?

Firefly Music Festival took place in Dover, Delaware on June 16-20, 2016.

The sweetest life

Fashion (and music) takeover at Sweetgreen’s music festival.

In 2010, sweetgreen decided to throw a small local event in honor of their second location opening in Dupont Circle. Today, more than 23,000 attendees enjoy more than just a delicious salad; festival-goers witness amazing musical acts while learning about sustainability and trying delicious food.

Influencers, models, musical talent, founders and more elites filled the VIP tent as we all avoided the two-hour rain storm that took over the festival for a short period. I even had a chance to talk to Anna Gaca who watched Brianna and I chow down our Luke Lobster rolls while also chatting with me about previous Sweetlife Festivals and this year’s range of music acts. It’s always so great to meet new people at these huge events!

Although several parts of Merriweather Post Pavilion endured muddy areas, the wet grounds didn’t put a damper on the talented musicians. Flume stopped his set near-three times due to technical issues, while Grimes excitedly pumped up the arena with an upbeat tempo and impressive dance moves. PARTYNEXTDOOR brought his A-game with a mix of tracks from his endless body of work including “Come & See Me” and his verse in Drake’s “With You.”

In my quest to vlog more, I not only shot video throughout the festival, but also snapped pictures with TheKevinJ of the most fashionable attendees. The area offers more than just Coachella-typical styles, the DMV embodies a combination of edgy, street-centric characteristics that showed in several outfits.

For Sweetlife, I styled my Adidas Originals sports jacket with a Vans cap I found in my sister’s bedroom. Since cool temperatures filled the air, my high-waisted jeans from River Island and a crop top held up perfectly throughout the day. My Converse sneakers, which aren’t as near comfy as any of my other shoes, may you RIP. The mud destroyed them, but I am contemplating throwing them in the wash to get rid of the mud.
